Steve and Daphne’s Story
Last November, our good friends, Steve and Daphne, moved to Vermont from their home in Arizona. Talk about a culture shock! To go from such a warm climate to one with real season changes would take some getting used to. But, since it was the result of a career change and was a good move for them, they decided to go for it.
Heating Oil Is An Expensive Way to Heat Your Home
The house they bought was heated with heating oil. This was a heating concept that they had never encountered before, mainly because it’s mostly an eastern way of heating a dwelling. They did manage to talk with a neighbor who suggested that they find another method to heat their home. He told them that during cold winter months it is not unheard of to spend between $500 and $600 to heat a house with heating oil. He said that he uses infrared heaters in both his bedroom and the main living quarters of his home
Infrared Heaters Can Save Money
After listening to what their neighbor said about infrared heaters, Steve decided to go online and check out some infrared heater reviews. After a couple of hours of reading reviews about different manufacturers, makes, and models, he decided this would be the better way to heat their home during the winter months.
Steve’s Plan
Steve determined that he would keep the heating oil furnace on at around 45 degrees so the pipes would not freeze. He then decided to buy three of the infrared heaters for the parts of the home that he and Daphne would occupy for the majority of their time. They are quite confident that this will be a more economical way of staying warm in the winter. We can hardly wait to see how this works out for them.
